specifically her wish for more than just fatherly love. With Daddy, her constant “Because I wanted to” response is insufficient.

“If I listen, if I’m good, will you, can you try to love me?” Lulu begs him, expressing regret. Derrick objects, but he does agree that he would bring up the topic again if she pays attention and follows instructions.
